Tasmanian Energy Bill Relief: Benefits for Caravanning Parks and Businesses

    By Mattew Jones | Blog, Industry News | Comments are Closed | 2 July, 2024 | 0

Tasmanian households and businesses are set to benefit from a one-off energy bill dividend included in this year’s state budget. This initiative is especially beneficial for caravanning parks and businesses, providing much-needed financial relief.

    Key Details:

    • Household Relief: All Tasmanian households will receive a $250 cost-of-living dividend automatically credited to their electricity bills.
    • Business Relief: Approximately 35,000 small businesses, including many in the caravanning sector, will receive a $300 dividend.
    • Automatic Credit: The dividend will be automatically applied to energy accounts starting July 1. No action is required from recipients.

    Impact on Caravanning Sector:

For caravanning parks and businesses, the $300 dividend can help reduce operational costs, allowing more investment in services and facilities for guests. This financial relief arrives at a crucial time, easing the burden of rising costs.

    Broader Financial Relief:

The state government continues to reinvest Hydro dividends, up to $90 million annually, into essential services. Combined state and federal programs are expected to save the average Tasmanian concession-holder around $1429 on their power bill this financial year.

    Support for the Community:

This initiative supports around 254,000 Tasmanian households and up to 35,000 small businesses, ensuring that our members can focus on their operations without additional financial stress.

Caravanning Tasmania is dedicated to keeping our members informed about developments that impact their businesses. This energy bill relief is a positive step towards supporting our parks and manufacturers, ensuring they can continue to thrive. Stay tuned for more updates and initiatives supporting our industry.
