The North West

Wonders of Wynyard Exhibition and Visitor Information Centre

Dove Lake

Dove Lake is a magical place to discover. One of the best-known walks in Tasmania, the 6 kilometre Dove Lake Circuit is also the most easily accessible short walk in the Cradle Mountain region. The Lake on a calm day will afford magnificent reflections of the impressive granite mountain backdrop where the true essence of Tasmania’s rugged beauty can be captured.

Dooleys Hill Forest Walk

Feel like a walk? Tasmanaia has some spectacular walks so get out of your seat and take in the glorious sites! Dooleys Hill provides the means. A series of short walking trails through native forest on the edge of Latrobe township. Dooleys Hill is an ideal place for birdwatching and all are easily accessible. The trails are short and easy and the paths well formed. Walks require between 15 minutes and 1 hour 10 minutes to complete.

Tasmanian Arboretum

Tasmania has a huge number of unique plant species. The Tasmanian Arboretum provides a spectacular display; in fact, the world’s largest collection of Tasmanian living woody plants; Southern Hemisphere Conifers and plants from northern hemisphere forests. Set amongst beautiful spacious parklands with abundant birdlife and platypus viewing makes for a fabulous and worthwhile spot to take in the sights.
