    By Mattew Jones | Uncategorized | Comments are Closed | 20 November, 2025 | 0

Joanne Keown from Tassie Getaway Parks (BIG4 Stanley, BIG4 St Helens, and BIG4 Ulverstone) was elected President of Caravanning Tasmania at our Annual General Meeting on 19 November.

Learn a little bit more about Joanne through this short bio:

With nearly 30 years of experience across tourism, hospitality and education, Joanne Keown has become one of Australia’s most respected voices in the caravan and camping industry, as well as a committed advocate for the future of Tasmanian tourism.

Joannes’s career began with a love of travel that took her around the world before returning to Australia to build a professional pathway spanning retail travel, tertiary education, national tourism leadership and industry consultancy.

She has held senior roles including four years as Tasmania State Manager for BIG4 Holiday Parks, where she worked closely with operators across the state and developed a deep understanding of regional nuances and visitor behaviours.

Over the last 15 years, Joanne has visited most caravan and holiday parks in Tasmania, giving her unparalleled insight into the drivers of caravan and camping success across the state.

Holding a Master of Marketing, specialising in consumer behaviour and tourism, Joanne brings a sophisticated understanding of the Tasmanian visitor market – intra-state, inter-state and inbound. She has contributed to sector development through recent Tourism Industry Council Tasmania initiatives, participated in professional development programs such as On the Road to Opportunity and appeared in industry videos examining the caravan and motorhome market in Tasmania.

Her operational leadership includes five years as Revenue Manager for Tassie Getaway Parks, where she strengthened performance across multiple properties and demonstrated how data-driven strategy can elevate regional visitor experiences.

Today, as the founder of Revenue Creatures and more recently Marketing Creatures, Joanne partners with more than 50 independent accommodation businesses across Australia to help them maximise revenue, elevate digital capability and thrive in competitive markets.

A passionate believer in industry capability building, Joanne is also an award-winning lecturer in Digital Marketing Strategy at RMIT and Southern Cross University, shaping and inspiring the next generation of tourism and marketing professionals.

As a speaker, Joanne brings energy, credibility and deep industry expertise to every stage. Her presentations equip operators, leaders and marketers with practical strategies grounded in real-world experience across revenue management, sales, marketing and tourism.

Joanne’s approach blends data-driven insight with clear, actionable guidance, helping businesses strengthen performance, adapt to change and create meaningful, market-responsive visitor experiences.
